I believe that you have played an immensely crucial role in finding me an employer who matches my wishes perfectly, "recruiting" is such an understated word for the services you provide. The whole process started more personally than I would have imagined. I remember going to the first meeting thinking, "Well, another recruiting company reaching out, all the same anyways," but I realised at our first coffee that you guys have a completely different approach and truly live that. I was astonished that you started your work by getting to know me as a person rather than just as a banker, and from there on out openly discussed any opportunities and how they might or might not suit me based on what I was looking for. Instead of simply trying to place me with the next big PE fund, you dug deeply into needs, wants, and wishes, discussing several companies in detail and coming up with a conclusion on each of them. Desperate emails, panicking calls, as well as just chill meetings over a coffee, this process has had it all, and I am more than excited to start my new role with what I believe to be the right employer for me. I cannot thank you enough for guiding me through this difficult and changing time and continued support in finding the one role that suits all aspects of my professional but also my personal life. I truly appreciate all your help and support and am more than happy with the outcome.

Our brief to PER was to identify a senior investor to lead our entry into the DACH market, who can put us on the map, source and win the right deals and build our presence and team over time. Rupert Bell's ability to communicate this opportunity and present it in an exciting and compelling fashion generated an excellent shortlist of candidates. His advice and judgement on the follow-up helped us select and convert our first choice in a discreet and elegant way.

I have known Rupert Bell and his colleagues for several years. So, when the need arose to bring a new senior colleague into our investment team at Reimann Investors, it was natural to seek their support. Rupert understood our business’s strategy and culture. He articulated the need I was trying to address with the right mixture of technical skills, sector focus, and leadership. PER has an extensive and active network of talented investors, and Rupert presented me with a strong list of suitable candidates. PER was a valued partner for our firm during our first recruitment-assisted UK search. Lydia and the team were informed, patient, and adaptable to our team’s requests throughout the search, maintained open lines of communication and feedback, and prioritised candidates based on both skill and cultural fit. We are pleased with the outcome of the search, and would recommend PER to others in the market for PE Associates!

Having launched Inspirit Capital in 2019, we have partnered with PER for Investment team hiring and, most recently, for a Portfolio Director, as a new function within the team. As a growing firm, we have quite particular requirements and a heavy emphasis on ensuring fit within the team. We have been impressed by the quality of candidates Annabelle and her team have sourced, and their understanding of the key attributes we tend to look for in new recruits. As a result, the recruitment process we have completed has been smooth and efficient; we have been really pleased with the outcomes delivered.

Rupert leveraged PER’s extensive network to access a range of talent and presented our firm in a distinctive and compelling fashion. We were able to engage with several seasoned investors with a genuine appetite to help us grow our business in an entrepreneurial fashion. With a great bench of options, we could select from a position of strength. The process was tightly managed, PER’s candidate recommendations demonstrated a genuine understanding of our business and culture and we are delighted with the outcome.

Annelie led an international search for us for an independent Board chair. We had quite particular requirements for this role as we are in an emerging technical space and a UK-based company looking to establish a profile in the US. We were impressed by both the high quality of candidates that Annelie sourced for us, and their level of engagement when we interacted with them. She has delivered us an outcome that we’re really thrilled with, and as an important by-product, given us very positive connections with a number of significant players in the field. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Annelie and I am confident that the candidates in our process would do likewise.

We started working with the PER team on a search for a biotech investor just a few months ago, after what had been several months of us struggling to manage the search on our own. As with any new partnership, we entered the agreement with a healthy dose of scepticism - but within the first month of working with Annelie and the PER team, the quality of their work was clear. The talent bar was both high and unwavering. While we started with a goal of only hiring for one investor, we ultimately were so impressed by two of the candidates we met that we extended offers to both. As such, PER has easily established itself as one of our go-to partners for investor searches.

Isabel did a great job throughout the whole process. She fully understood what I was looking for and made introductions to the right firms where my skill-set would work well. She also prepared me well for the interviews and I felt she had a good connection to the recruiters on the firms' side giving me a great understanding of what they might be looking for. Despite not being in her best interest she was also very open about the attractiveness of different positions and the attractiveness of the offers I received. Prior to working with Anne-Catherine I was in contact with various other independent recruiters as well as recruiting firms and my experience with Anne-Catherine was by far the best. After a first introduction with Anne-Catherine she quickly understood what I was looking for and suggested open positions that could be interesting for me. The process to be included in the candidate pool for each position was intuitive and efficient. Prior to each interview I had a preparation call with Anne-Catherine with background information for the company, what they were looking for and preparation material for the interview. After each interview stage there was a catch-up call to go over topics discussed and my perception of the employer and position going through the process. I have the impression that Anne-Catherine represented my interests and expectations very well towards the recruiting company and while with other head hunters I often had the feeling that the person just wanted to place me on any position as fast as possible, with Anne-Catherine I truly believe that she wanted to find the best possible position for me as well as a good match for the employers requirements. After accepting the offer and starting my new position Anne-Catherine continued to reach out to me to see if my expectations for the position were met.

PER is a close and esteemed partner to FSN Capital. For several years, we have been working with PER across geographies. In particular, Rupert Bell and his German colleagues have over the past three years assisted us in recruiting our entire team based in Munich. Rupert truly knows the PE industry and what’s more: our unique culture and points of differentiation. He and his team support us with client centricity, integrity and a relentless commitment to finding the best possible solution.

Patrice Jabet, Partner

FSN Capital

In our plans to launch an innovative new small-cap LBO fund in Germany, we needed to identify a partner to lead the investment team. Despite a tight labour market, PER were able to articulate this as a compelling career option for a senior investor looking for an exciting and entrepreneurial leadership challenge and they identified a high calibre shortlist of relevant candidates from their extensive network, in a very short time frame. This was especially impressive given we had to keep the search rather confidential for various reasons. They also helped us assess the best fit and commercial terms for success. Private Equity is after all a people business and the key to bringing our business to life has been working with an adviser who understands us and what makes us different. We are now continuing our working relationship to build out the rest of the deal team together.

Harry was extremely helpful at every stage, giving useful tips that I wouldn't have known otherwise. He was always available for a call and very transparent about how the process was going. James demonstrated a great understanding of the private equity space and the companies I was interviewing for. He has always been able to provide me with very valuable advice that helped me to come very well prepared to every single interview. James is definitely a valuable asset to PER’s success and earns my highest recommendation.

Investment Analyst

Secondaries Fund

I had the pleasure to talk to James when I was in process of changing from sell-side advisory to buy-side private equity six months ago. I have waited this long to write a testimonial as I wanted to see how close reality was to the ‘sales pitch’. Based on similar previous processes that I have been in, I can truly say that James and all the people I talked to at PER during the recruiting process were exceptional. James had a clear understanding of the job, what to expect and was always available to discuss career path and personal fit for my new employer. Even though recruitment agents are sellers, and often the discussion is colored to place you as a potential candidate, James did not take that approach and always had an objective view in our discussion, which was highly appreciated. Thus, to summarize – as a company looking for a recruitment agent or as someone looking for a new job, I can highly recommend James and PER.

PER exceeded our expectations in many ways and turned out to be the absolute right partner to recruit for our Finance Team. For some very specific finance vacancies, the PER Team were to find a range of matching candidates within the short term. The team is highly reactive, caring for both its candidates and clients and eager to fully understand the exact needs of its clients. I can highly recommend the PER Team.

I joined PER as a Research Analyst, and with no prior finance or recruitment related experience, the learning curve was steep to say the least! I'm now COO and am responsible for the day to day running of the operational side of the business. From day one it’s clear that you’re surrounded by people with years of first-hand experience of how the industry works, so it really is the perfect learning environment. Having grown up and evolved with the business, from research analyst to leading my own team and now as COO, I can safely say that our welcoming attitude remains the same, with the emphasis placed on training, personal development and helping people to achieve their ambitions.

PER was extremely helpful throughout my application process and I had an incredibly enjoyable, positive experience working with them. Will, in particular, did a great job in providing helpful materials to help educate me on certain career paths, as well as giving tips before each interview round - his support and honesty by far exceeded that of any other recruiting agency that I had experienced. I highly recommend PER!

James has done an excellent job on a recent hiring process for us. At the outset, he invested a good amount of time discussing and understanding our ideal candidate profile, of the back of which, he ran a smooth and structured process which led to a high calibre hire. We are very pleased with the new addition to our team, and would certainly consider working with PER on other future mandates.

PER has helped me to make my next career step by placing me into a VC/PE fund. PER is one of the leading headhunting firms, which is rightfully so. The PER team is highly professional and very supportive during the whole process, giving the candidates the most seamless process and support in the stress of applying and convincing potential new employers of you.

"The case study is still the most decisive element of the recruitment process because it’s the closest you get to actually doing the job. Candidates can win or lose based on how they perform on the case study. People who are OK in the interview can land the job by showing the quality of their thinking,” Gail told David. “You need to show that you can think, and think like an investor"

Gail McManus

I have interacted with various recruitment agencies, but PER has by far been the best. This is probably because they put a real effort into building great relationships with the candidates. In particular, I really appreciated working with Ashalan and PER, as communication and closeness have made a process that could be somewhat stressful into a very smooth experience. Thank you so much for all the support throughout the whole process.
